For better or worse...

One of the most joyous things to talk about when you're a newly married couple is what your budget will be like. "You spend how much on whaaat?" "We'll be paying your student loans for how long?!?" As an abstract thought the things we spend money on don't seem that bad but when they're all there on paper, staring up at you and your new life partner, suddenly your $60-every-two-weeks haircut seems like "negative $60 toward future house payment." That movie you were thinking of seeing this weekend becomes "minus $7.75 toward purchase of new dresser."

Do we really need money to be happy? Or a house? Can't we just live on love?
