Bingo Night

Thursday night a group of us were sitting in a middle school cafeteria playing Bingo. Can't remember the last time I played Bingo, probably back when I was in middle school.

Our dear friend Chelsea is a teacher and had organized a Bingo Night for her school, all the proceeds went to Relay for Life, an annual event for the American Cancer Society. The cafeteria smelled a little weird but we had a great time, eating pizza and playing Bingo. None of us won any of the games or the door prize drawings but that was okay, the event raised an astounding $1,900. All in the course of an evening.

I keep thinking last night of how many women I know who've been affected by breast cancer....my friend's moms, my mom's friends, women I've worked with or knew in school. It seems like everyone must know at least one person it's affected. Several months back a co-worker sent me a link to The Breast Cancer Site , where just clicking on a little pink button helps to fund free mammograms for underprivileged women. You can even sign up for emails reminding you to click every week. What a great concept.

Feeling very fortunate this morning.......
