Easter Weekend

Was a lovely weekend. We hosted our first Easter at our place (okay, so it wasn't a large crowd, just my parents) and that was very nice. We fixed a pork tenderloin recipe from Epicurious, along with baked mashed potatoes, green beans and of course, the obligatory deviled eggs. It all turned out pretty well, if I say so myself.

Went out with friends Friday night for dinner and drinks and finally got to check out the new(ish) Boom Boom Room, a tiki-themed bar close to my neighborhood. I love a good tiki bar. The Trader Vic’s at the downtown Hilton is my choice for any special occasion. It is wonderfully campy and never crowded. The Boom Boom Room was cute but I was turned off by their music selection. Death metal interspersed with disco classics, and then a college-esq cover band upstairs. This place was crying out for some Don Ho or something. Anything.

We also got to see “A Mighty Wind,” another Christopher Guest movie. Waiting for Guffman is still our fave but this was pretty dang funny. Brilliant characters.

A good weekend was had by all.
