It was the first weekend in a long time that we haven't had a ton of plans, very relaxing. We went to look at houses on Friday afternoon, I'm starting to wonder what we will do in our spare time after we finally buy a house. I know....we'll work on fixing up the house! We've gone from looking at 1920's bungalows to 1960's contemporaries but there are still problems with every house, a leaky basement, a moldy bathroom, rotting wood, etc. And in almost all of them - a horrible kitchen in need of renovation! Friday night Andrew went to hang out and toast Johnny Cash with a friend while I headed off to Home Depot to overwhelm myself looking at kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc. Andrew is pretty handy and I'm....well, I have a lot of faith in Andrew and we're trying to figure out how much it would cost to renovate a kitchen ourselves. Are we insane?
What else?....I went to see the movie "Thirteen" on Saturday night.....it was entertaining, depressing and unfortunately - probably truer to life than people would like to think. Would definitely recommend seeing it though. Holly Hunter was fantastic in her role as the loving and hip young mom who made you want to smack her upside the head for being so naive.
And finally......worked on a new blog layout for fall! (thank you Andrew for your help) The photo is a er, tribute to Mary Timony's Golden Dove album....I don't look as effortlessly cool as Ms. Timony but we had fun taking the photos. Outtakes may be posted later. Maybe.
So, it was a good weekend of house hunting, movie watching and a little relaxing. Andrew starts his first day at UPS today. Fall is in the air. Things are definitely looking good.
