Now With More Holiday Cheer!

I'm now officially in the Christmas spirit. We traveled to Tallahassee this past Saturday to attend my aunt and uncle's annual holiday party. My Uncle Larry is a great (but humble) musician and every year they throw a jam party, with a house full of extremely talented people singing and playing guitars, mandolins, fiddles and one guy who plays a washtub bass. Interesting people, wonderful music, great food and cold beer. It was a great time.

Then last night was the Children's Pageant at our church. This is the third year we've gone to the pageant and it is just as enjoyable (and comical) as the first time. You have your pre-teen Mary and Joseph, both looking humiliated to be wearing pillowcases wrapped around their heads. The three wisemen come down the aisle bearing gifts and tripping over their Nike basketball shoes. And then there are the angels and shepards, this is the best part. Our church is blessed with an inordinate number of children under the age of 5 and when they come streaming down the aisles clad in their shepard costumes (the boys) or angel robes (the girls) it is quite a commotion. They meander all over the stage, play with their halos, pull off one of the donkey's tails, sing, cry, yell "Look Mama!" and it is just madness. I love it.

So now I'm chock-full of holiday spirit...complete with a new "holiday" banner and a December update to my "About Me" page.

Now if only I can find time to write my Christmas cards.....
