True Love.

Yesterday afternoon Andrew emailed me to say that he was taking care of dinner that night and it would be ready when I got home from Jazzercise. Huh. I was pleasantly surprised/curious/scared.

I came home to find the table set with a new potted orchid in the center of the table, a bottle of wine, takeout from my favorite Thai restaurant and a plate with two fortune cookies. Wow. I was impressed. This was the first time we've had a romantic type dinner in...uh...okay, way too long because I can't remember the last time.

The best part came when we finished the cashew chicken and broke open the fortune cookies. I opened mine first and read it aloud, "You will find true love on Flag Day."

I started laughing out loud. Yesterday was Flag Day and the cookie's message was a reference to one of my favorite Simpsons episodes, one where Homer becomes a fortune cookie writer and Mr. Burns gets the fortune that he will find true love on Flag Day.

Could my husband be any sweeter or funnier?

Or am I just weird for being so easily wooed by a fortune cookie?
