We got a Save the Date card in the mail for our friend Parm's upcoming nuptials. He and his fiancée Pooja are planning an April wedding in San Juan. I am really really hopeful that we can go. Not sure how we'll afford it but Andrew keeps saying "We're going." I spent part of my lunch hour yesterday browsing the website for the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino, the site were the wedding is. Mmmmm...warm beaches, tropical rain forests, rum drinks and...oh yeah, going to the wedding sounds great too. Parm and Pooja are as American as it gets but their families are both Indian and I'm really excited about experiencing the wedding customs of another culture. I was reading the list of wedding events and the night before the ceremony is the Ladies' Sangeet, where the bride and her friends have mendhi painting done...so neat! And the wedding day itself is like a day long event, with a 10:00 AM ceremony, then a luncheon and then a cocktail hour and reception later that night. Already I am wondering what you wear to the ceremony and do you wear the same thing all day or change clothes or what? Curious if anyone reading is Indian or has been to an Indian wedding before?

I hope we get to go....
